The Hellenic Society for the Science and Technology of Condensed Matter (HSSTCM) is a non-profit Greek Scientific Society established in 1981.


Our Objectives

To promote the exchange of new developments and achievements in Condensed Matter and Material Science and support their applications.


Our Vision

To be a catalyst for Scientific and Technological Excellence in the field of Condensed Matter and Material Science in Greece.

To serve the corresponding Hellenic communities with vigour and responsibility, in Greece and globally.

Organisation of seminars, conferences, lectures or workshops.

Bringing together Greek research groups, which perform research on Condensed Matter and Material Science, with research groups abroad.

Awards to young researchers for excellent research in the field of Condensed Matter and Material Science.

Newsletters with events, news and other information pertaining to Condensed Matter and Material research.

Administrative Board:

The president and the executive members are elected by the general assembly of the full members


HSSTCM is member of FEMS  (Federation of European Materials Societies), participates in their general assemblies and has the right of electing and being elected at the Administrative Board

Postdoctoral Researchers' Networking Tour 2017

Materials Sciences and Nanotechnology


German Academic Exchange service (DAAD) is offering a  Postdoctoral Researchers  Networking Tour  for postdocs from Materials Sciences and Nanotechnology who are interested in job opportunities in Germany (academic and non-academic).

They offer:

· a practice orientated and diverse program to suit the requirements of the participants

· coverage of program related costs in Germany (accommodation, domestic travel, most meals)

· a lump sum travel allowance if such costs are not borne by a third party. This will also be provided if the stay is extended by up to five working days in order to allow for additional professional networking.

The dates of the tour are 24.09.2017   30.09.2017 the application deadline is July 17, 2017, 12:00 noon CET.

HSSTCM, in tandem with the Hellenic Metallurgical Society (HMS), have succeeded in bringing the prestigious biennial conference EuroMAT2017, organized by FEMS, to the Megaron Mousikis in Thessaloniki on 17-22 September 2017!
